My uncle and cousin are Firemen Don and Mark Caruso. We heard from my Uncle Don at around 1:30 am today. He and the other firemen, police and citizens in St. Bernard are recieving little to no assistance. He has recieved no food, no water except what they have been able to secure from the flooded stores in St. Bernard. They NEED HELP. There are still many surivors trapped in St. Bernard. We have contacted the Baton Rouge new media WBRZ channel 2 -they will be airing the story in the morning. PLEASE do whatever you can, call the media, call the goverment...if they won't listen KEEP CALLING. Where is our federal assisstance in St. Bernard? They are all okay for now but they desperately need help. We talked to some Baton Rouge firemen - they are sending boats to St. Bernard. Thank god for them reaching out to help, but they need so much more. PLEASE, PLEASE DO WHATEVER YOU CAN!

I just got off the phone with Orleans Emergency Management Agency. They confirmed that they have spoken to Junior Rodriguez and the National Guard just reached the Exxon Mobile building!!!

We are going to get saved tonight. I gave them Junior's phone number and they got in touch with him. I have been calling governor blancos office and the national guard and the Orleans Emergency Managment Agency, giving them phone numbers to people stuck in the parish to try to open up communication.

We opened the lines of communication and it worked. THANKS SHAWN AND ALL THE PEOPLE THAT GAVE ME PHONE NUMBERS OF STRANDED PARISH PEOPLE.

dat's hawt,

although i am grateful for the brave men n women who saved so many in StB after Katrina...i am disgusted and embarassed with the firefighters n deputies down there that were caught looting the house! i had a friends florr untouched by the storm looted by officials! they are an embarassment to law officials. also y are the authorities driving new ecursions? f150s? NOPD sticks to the crown vics so y arent we?bc StB cops are as corrupt as they come! o by the way to sheriffs stevensn the rest high ranking officials ppl know about the strippers n escorts on yalls boats! u should b ashamed!

The vehicles the sherriffs dept are driving were donated by BOHN FORD. So please check your facts before you post somthing on a website. Also they are no strippers and excorts going on the boats half of them left New Orleans.

I am writing this with a heavy heart, I am no longer a resident of St. Bernard Parish. I have left and will never be back. I just cannot rebuild in a parish where flooding will happen again. I say this because I went through Betsy, and watched in horror as Katrina hit and I saw my house under water. As long as the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet (MRGO) is open St. Bernard will flood during a hurrcane that hits just right as Katrina did. I leave my friends that are staying and to them I say good luck. I can be reached at writer522@juno.com should you seek to contact me.
